MODE OF ACTION

Acetyl-L-Carnitine (ALC) is a potent antioxidant. ALC has been shown to improve the energy metabolism of neurons and cells by enhancing the transport of medium and short-chain saturated fatty acids across the cell membranes and into the mitochondria.

Dimethyl Glycine (DMG) is a derivative of the amino acid glycine. It can be found in small amounts in the diet, when derived from liver and beans for example, but is obtained in larger amounts via supplementation.

DMG’s therapeutic benefits is mainly due to it functioning as a methyl donor but also from its conversion to Glycine within the body.

DMG has been used to support neurological disorders such as Epilepsy, Autism and Down-Syndrome because of this release of a methyl group which is donated to the SAMe (S-Adenosylmethionine) cycle.

Research has shown that DMG provides beneficial support for both skeletal and cardiac muscles, because it facilitates the delivery of oxygen to the body’s tissues and reduces lactic acid build up in the blood during stressful events. It also increases glycogen reserves.

Magnesium Malate: Magnesium is essential for energy utilisation, ion transport, protein and nucleic acid synthesis as well as a host of other metabolic processes. The Malic acid component of Magnesium Malate, plays an active role in the body’s Krebs Cycle, facilitating the endogenous production of energy, alleviating fatigue and increasing stamina.
